Data Communication Protocols

Open architecture provides data exchange with clinical information systems from 3rd party suppliers.
Dräger ventilators, anesthesia machines and patient monitors provide interfaces for data exchange with data management systems or other medical devices from 3rd party suppliers.
Due to Dräger's concept of "open architecture", any supplier of medical products can develop interface adapters to import data from Dräger devices. All major suppliers of medical products already provide those interfaces for most Dräger medical devices.

3rd Party Interfaces

All major suppliers of medical products already provide interfaces for most of Dräger’s medical devices.
The Dräger data communication protocols are made available for 3rd party manufacturers to design interface adapters for their own medical equipment. The interface designs vary between manufacturers and are at their own discretion. Once an interface has been established, data from Dräger devices are then available for further links to HIS or other networked IT systems. The scope of this link, again, depends on the standards and architectures chosen by the respective manufacturers.

Download here an overview list of 3rd party manufacturers who own licenses for use of Dräger data communication protocols. These companies may use the data protocols, but not in every case Dräger has the information whether they actually do. Some of these manufacturers have developed interfaces just for certain Dräger devices, some interfaces are just distributed in certain regions.

Contact Dräger in case you have questions on particular interface adapters or if you have additional information on this subject which should be added to the overview list.
